Global Extension Team (GET)
Growing New Clubs. Growing New Opportunities.
The Global Extension Team (GET) leads the charge in expanding the Lions movement — by helping form new clubs that reflect the evolving needs and diversity of our communities.
Extension is more than numbers — it's about creating new pathways for people to serve, lead, and make a lasting impact through volunteering.
Why Club Extension Matters
To truly serve where we’re needed most, we must be present in more communities. GET focuses on:
- Starting new traditional and specialty Lions clubs
- Supporting new club development and sustainability
- Identifying underserved areas with potential for growth
- Engaging new demographics and diverse groups
- Promoting flexible club models to meet modern needs
Every new club is an opportunity to:
- Reach more people in need
- Empower more volunteers
- Increase visibility and relevance
- Strengthen our collective impact
Mission 10K: Growing Through New Clubs
Achieving 10,000 members by July 2027 means not only inviting new members but also building new clubs. Whether it's a Cyber Club, a Club Branch, a Cause-Based Club, or a Campus Club — there’s a place for everyone to serve.
New Zealand Lions are embracing innovation in how we form, structure, and support clubs — with GET at the forefront.
Club Models for Today’s World
We support and promote a variety of flexible club formats, including:
-
Cause-Based Clubs – Formed around a shared passion (e.g., environment, youth, health)
-
Specialty Clubs – Focused on culture, profession, or interest (e.g., young professionals, ethnic groups)
-
Cyber Clubs – Meeting primarily online for flexibility
-
Campus Clubs – Based in tertiary institutions, empowering student leaders

Join the Movement
Every new club starts with one idea, one conversation, one invitation.
