Upper North Island and the Pacific Islands
Welcome to Lions District 202K!
Lions District 202K is the northernmost district of New Zealand, also encompassing the Islands of the South Pacific.
Our clubs reflect the rich diversity and culture of our region, with members from both city and rural communities. Most clubs are mixed, with men and women working side by side, while some remain women-only or men-only.
Our members bring creativity and energy to an incredible variety of projects – from book fairs, sausage sizzles, and garage sales to fishing competitions, dog shows, car shows, firewood sales, and even the restoration of a memorial church. Every dollar raised goes back into the community. In recent years, clubs have helped fund and install exercise equipment, walkways, playgrounds, community pianos, electric BBQs, helipads, and town clocks – just a few of the many contributions Lions have made.
Being a Lion is about more than fundraising – it’s about friendship, fellowship, and the joy of working together to make a difference. Members enjoy time together at meetings, service projects, and social events, often with family members joining in.
If you can spare a few hours each month, you can help us strengthen our communities while making lifelong friendships. Contact us today and we’ll connect you with your local Lions club.
Together, WE SERVE.

Theme: “Supporting Clubs in Powerful Service”
Kia Ora Whanau Lions me nga Leos
My theme for the 2025-2026 Lions year is ‘Tautoko karapu I roto te ahi kaha”
(supporting Clubs in powerful service)
I believe this truly captures the heart of our Lions’ mission, ‘We Serve” and that we need to support our Clubs to do this, even better than they already do.
"We Serve" to make a meaningful difference in our communities, believing that this also spills over into strengthening clubs, so that members feel happy and fulfilled, and others want to be part of that.
I grew up in a home that was always open and caring for others, and took this through into my own career as a Social worker.
I currently work part-time at my local community house, and spend the rest of my time enjoying my children and grandchildren, being part of my community, and being an active part of my Papakura Lions club.
Kia ora mo tenei wa
Yours in Lionism
